Community Sports Centre Design

The Brief:

"You are required to design a Community Sports Centre which will be located in the lower Baakens Valley. The city requires that the building be designed in such a manner that it is able to be self sufficient in terms of water and energy".

Objectives: -To investigate at least FIVE precedent case studies of Community Sports Centres; -To investigate appropriate spatial responses in both plan and section; -To investigate the structural implications and challenges related to the design of a sporting facility;

-Developing the planning solutions for a fairly complex building accommodation schedule -To analyse in depth the existing urban context with the intention to develop an appropriate design -To develop and appropriate aesthetic, which respects the sensitive environment located in the river valley.
